My Requirements

Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a friendly female university student or young professional (recent graduate) to act as a "Big Sister" or mentor for my 10-year-old daughter. Since her mum is currently in China, she would love some female company on weekends. We are open to students or those working in creative fields (e.g., Arts, Design, Education) who have a fun, energetic personality.

?The Most Important Requirement:
You need to be Engaging, Patient, and Encouraging.
My daughter is a little bit shy and lacks enough confidence in English. We are NOT looking for someone who just talks at her. We need someone who can:
?1) Draw her out: Ask open-ended questions and guide her to answer.
?2) Be Patient: Give her time to think and find her words without pressure.
?3) Keep the flow: If she gets stuck, you know how to change the topic or make a joke to keep things fun.

?The Role:
Think of this as a paid "playdate." The goal is to help her relax and "find her voice" through activities.
?1) Creative Play: Baking, arts & crafts, or drawing together.
?2) Gaming: Playing Roblox, Minecraft, or Overcooked etc.
?3) Just Chatting: Gossiping about school, music, or daily life (and helping her understand school trends/slang).

?What is NOT required:
?1) No formal teaching (we have a tutor).
?2) No housework or cleaning.

?Ideal Candidate Profile:
?1) Native English speaker (Standard/Southern accent preferred) to help improve her intonation and flow naturally through conversation.
?2) Warm & Proactive: You are the kind of person who initiates conversation easily but is also a good listener.
?3) Experience: Students from Drama, Arts, Education, or Psychology backgrounds often fit this role well.
