About Me
Hi, I’m a single dad of two wonderful children, aged 5 and 7. I work full-time and commute into London three days a week (8:30am–5:30pm), so I’m looking for a reliable and caring nanny who can support us on those days.
Because their mum and I share custody, the help will be needed bi-weekly (every other week). We live in West Wickham, and my children attend school in Beckenham, so I’m looking for someone who is comfortable with school drop-offs, pick-ups, and general after-school care until I’m home.
I’m 34 and currently living in a one-bed home with my two kids. We value kindness, stability, and a warm environment. If you’re friendly, trustworthy, and enjoy working with young children, I’d love to hear from you.
My Requirements
My Childcare Requirements
I am looking for a reliable and caring nanny to support me with school runs and after-school care for my two children, aged 5 and 7. I work full-time and travel into London three days a week, so I need consistent childcare every other week (biweekly), as their mother and I share custody.
School Drop-Offs
Required 3 days per week on the mornings I go into the office.
I need to leave the house at 7:30am, so it would be ideal for the nanny to arrive by 7:20–7:25am.
The children start school at 8:30am in Beckenham.
The drive from West Wickham takes around 30 minutes with traffic.
A nanny who drives is strongly preferred.
School Pick-Ups
Needed most days of the week, including some days when I work from home, as my job does not allow me to leave early for pick-ups.
School finishes at 3:30pm, with occasional after-school club until 4:30pm.
On my office days, I return home between 6:00–7:00pm, so supervision is needed until I arrive.
After-School Routine
Preparing a simple after-school meal or snack.
Tidying up after meals (e.g., loading the dishwasher).
Supporting homework, reading, or quiet play until I get home.
Ensuring a warm, calm, and safe environment.
About My Younger Daughter
My younger daughter has Down syndrome, though she is not difficult to care for.
Her speech is still developing, so communication sometimes requires patience.
Her older sister is supportive and often helps with communication.
Expected Weekly Hours
Given the schedule, weekly hours on the weeks I need support are approximately:
1 hour each morning for school drop-off on 3 days ? 3 hours
1 hour after school on the 2 non-office days ? 2 hours
2–3 hours after school on the 3 office days ? 6–9 hours
Estimated total per active week: 11–14 hours
This will repeat every other week.
Additional Details
Light household help: Tidying up after the children's meals (dishwasher, clearing plates).
Driving & petrol contribution: Additional £20 per active week for driving and fuel costs.
Preferred start date: 26th January
Location: West Wickham (home), Beckenham (school)
