My Summary

My Experience

I am experienced with kids of all ages from new born to teenagers. Prior to moving to Scotland, I spent a year in Australia of which I spent 7 months as an au-pair for a family of 5. After almost a decade, I am still in touch with my host mom and went to visit them a couple of years ago: I believe this speaks volumes of how I treat the children I am caring for, and how they became my family and their home is still my “home away from home”.

When I joined my host family in Australia, they had 2-year-old twins and my host mom gave birth to their youngest shortly after I had joined their family. I was involved in anything and everything from changing nappies to bath time, mealtimes, taking the children to parks and activities, playtime, and generally looking after the kids and contributing to household duties. I had both sole and shared responsibility of the children both at home and elsewhere. While with my host family in Australia, I also babysat for another family during evenings, who had three kids under 3, so I have plenty of experience of this age group!

Additionally, I have also been a short-term au pair for a family of 6 in Luxembourg twice (June-July 2016, and June-July 2018) where the first time around my main responsibility was to look after their 6month old while the mom returned to work on part-time basis. In 2018, I mostly looked after the two youngest ones (2,5 years and 4 years) before and after daycare, and also helped with school/hobbies pick ups and drop-offs, homework etc. of the 11 and 12 years olds.

In addition to my au pair experiences, I have also done short-term summer jobs at daycare/nursery (kids from 1-5 years old), and volunteered as a leader for a pony club at my old riding school (kids from about 6-15 years old).

Besides childcare experience, I am comfortable around animals (anything from little critters to dogs, horses, or chickens!) and happy to help with household duties. I have experience of working both hospitality and corporate jobs, and currently studying for my MBA, so bring a range of different experience and ideas.

My Qualifications

I am PVG checked.
Full (clean) drivers’ licence since 2015, experienced on both manual and automatic.
No professional childcare education/qualifications, but highly experienced.

My Availability

My corporate job is very flexible, but I usually start work between 7:30am-10am, and finish between 3-5:30pm. I am available before and/or after my corporate hours, and with advance notice, I can usually move things around.

Overnights: only on the weekends.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £12.00 per hour

Can be discussed depending on the hours & time of the day. Depending on number of children. Starting from £12 per hour.
