Hello!, my name is Sarah.
I’m a qualified nanny with over 26 years experience in the childcare industry .....I have worked for the last 20 years as a Nanny in Kent, London, New York, and Europe. Before nannying I was a nursery nurse in 2 separate nursery’s, as well as teaching assistant in a reception class. I have also recently been helping out in a local private school one day a week, teaching YR 1whilst the TA has been on leave.
I am a cheerful, warm and Kind individual with a good sense of humour . I am reliable , trustworthy, responsible , organised, calm and dependable. I take seriously any duty given to me in a work environment.
I am caring and sensitive to peoples needs as well as being a good listener. I am very adaptable to different situations and offer flexibly when I needed in a work environment.
In my free time I enjoy yoga, running and swimming, I like to socialise with friends and family, visit new places of interest and when weather permits, taking my touring caravan away for weekend trips camping. Over the last few years I have been involved in volunteering in my free time at a homeless shelter in my local town. I like to set new challenges for myself , and in the last few years I have learnt how to snowboard, I also enjoy art, painting and sculpting. My husband and myself also enjoy spending time at our allotment when the weather is good, 'trying!' to grow our own fruit and vegetables.
Through the covid lock down I furthered my career and completed a Higher level teaching assistant course online. The school where I carried out my training has since offered me work to cover staff absences, which I do when i'm not nannying. I was offered a full time position as a TA, but nannying is my passion and I still want to continue in this profession first and foremost.
I am married, and a ‘mum ‘ to 3 cats!, because I don’t have my own children It means I can be flexible when needed, or to cover emergencies as well as being able to travel if required.
I live near Bluewater shopping centre, and have been nannying in Greenwich for the last 11 years, I have my own car and am happy to drive children around in my car or the family car, which ever the family I work for prefers. I am an animal lover and have been in jobs before where I have also cared for animals, such as walking dogs or helping clean rabbits out!
My Experience
With over 26yrs experience in childcare, I have worked as a classroom teaching assistant in a primary school, as a nursery nurse in Great Ormand street nursery , and 19 yrs as a nanny in London, kent, NewYork, and other over sea locations, working with children aged newborn - 16 yrs.
I have experience working with twins, premature babies, children with special medical and dietary requirements, sleep training , children with autism, and other specific SENs. I have worked for VIP families, as well as being part of a nanny share.
I have a natural warmth towards children, and love nothing more than to support parents, and to nuture and encourage children to be happy, confident and the unique little beings they are.
I always ensure my first aid training is up to date, and have nanny insurance.
I have a full clean driving license. Written and phone references can be supplied.
