My Requirements

Myself and my partner are about to have our first child, and are looking for a childminder to care for our little boy when I return to work after 9 months maternity.

I work as a freelancer in television, moving from show to show as required. While my partner is in the police force and works shifts.

Because of the nature of both of our work, we're very quickly finding that nurseries can't cater to our needs as we'd often be paying for a number of days that would go unused, while my partner's shift pattern has him off during week time hours!

Also, due to the nature of my work, I sometimes have 4-6 weeks off between contracts where I wouldn't want my child in childcare, so I could spend more time with him!

We're looking for a caring, reliable and flexible childminder to care for our little boy. We'd be able to give schedules two months in advance for the days of childcare needed, and could guarantee a certain number of working hours per month - it would be around 30 hours per week (all hours would fall between 8am and 645pm). It's just that some days we would only need childcare for a few hours (with later drop offs and earlier pick ups), on others, we would need the full day, and sometimes we would only need a couple of days in that week!).
