Highbury Family Looking For Part-Time Nanny
About Me
We are a couple with a baby girl who turns one on 10 June. We will both be back at work from then. We are based in Highbury N5 (ten mins walk from Highbury and Islington station, next to Highbury fields).
Our families are Sri Lankan and Scottish and we are a multilingual and sociable family who enjoy travelling, cycling and lots of cultural activities including theatre, comedy and gigs.
My Requirements
We are looking for a nanny from early June for 36 hours per week.
My mum can do one day a week long term, ideally Monday. My husband will have Fridays off from June to either September or December.
Therefore initial working pattern we are looking for is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8am to 7 or 8pm.
After September / December, this working pattern may transition to something like 12-8 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 8 - 7pm Friday. Maintaining at least 36 hours per week. At that stage, baby might go to nursery three mornings per week and you would pick the baby up. The nursery is 2 mins walk from our house.
As well as providing stimulating and attentive care to the baby, we would be looking for help with managing baby’s laundry and baby’s food (including some batch cooking for the freezer) and tidying baby’s bedroom and playroom.
If you are open to helping with additional housekeeping tasks like washing and ironing the adults’ clothes then we would be open to additional hours.
In terms of activities, we would be looking for someone who is enthusiastic and active, and would come up with interesting craft activities at home as well as taking her to the park to run around regularly. Before she starts nursery, we would like you to take her to at least one local playgroup or music class per day. We can already see the baby is very sociable and loves interacting with other children. She has a lot of energy and has been early with crawling, climbing up to stand and cruising on furniture. So far she has been happy with other people (eg grandparents/aunts/uncles) looking after her for a few hours.
Some evenings we will be home earlier and can help with bedtime routine but other evenings we would be home just before 8pm.
We would also be looking for flexibility on an ad hoc basis (eg once or twice per month) to stay later in the evening if we have an event to go to. We would have other back up care options if you aren’t available but some flexibility to take on extra hours would be great.
If you are interested, we would love to chat on the phone and then arrange to meet in person.
