Loving Family In Cranleigh Seeking Flexible, Caring Babysitter For Our One-Year-Old Son
About Me
We are David and Francesca, parents to our son Finn, who has just turned one. We live in a comfortable family home in Cranleigh, Surrey, along with our friendly cockerpoo, Dougie (aged 4).
Finn is a happy, sociable little boy who loves exploring and playing. He wears glasses following eye surgery he had as a baby, and it is important that his glasses stay on while he is awake. They have a strap to keep them in place and he generally keeps them on well, but carers should be prepared to pop them back on if he does pull them off. Apart from this, he has no other health concerns and is a typically active and curious one-year-old.
Finn currently attends Little Harriers nursery in Cranleigh during the week, so we are primarily looking for flexible, ad hoc support outside of his nursery hours. We are a warm and welcoming family and want to find reliable, caring people who will enjoy spending time with Finn and become familiar faces he feels comfortable around.
My Requirements
We are looking for flexible, ad hoc childcare to complement Finn's nursery schedule. Our needs are:
1. Evening babysitting at our home on evenings when we have plans. Finn's bedtime routine is straightforward.
2. Weekend care (daytime and/or evening) on Saturdays and Sundays, either at our home or at the carer's location.
3. Backup cover on nursery sick days when Finn is unwell and cannot attend his regular nursery. This could be at our home or the carer's setting, and may be at short notice.
Finn attends nursery Monday to Wednesday, and will also attend on Fridays from April 2026. Francesca cares for him on Thursdays. So evenings, and weekends are when we most need support.
Important notes for carers:
- Finn wears glasses with a strap following eye surgery as a baby. They need to stay on while he is awake. He generally keeps them on well, but please be prepared to pop them back on if he removes them.
- We have a friendly cockerpoo (Dougie), so you must be comfortable around dogs.
- A current DBS check and references are required.
- We invite all prospective carers to our home for an initial meet-and-greet with both parents before any booking.
