My Experience

Hello, I’m Karen. I am 64 years young.

I’ve always had a deep passion for working with children and supporting their growth. When my own children were young, I became heavily involved in children’s athletics and went on to found one of Berkshire’s first athletics clubs for children, a club that I’m proud to say is still running successfully today.

Family is an important part of my life. I have a wonderful grown-up daughter who is 35, and I’m a very proud grandparent to two lively grandchildren aged 6 and 8.

Now that I’m older, I’m looking for reliable and fulfilling work that allows me to stay active and engaged, but without the commitment of full-time hours. I bring dedication, warmth and a strong sense of responsibility to everything I do, and I’m excited to find an opportunity that aligns with my experience and passion.

I have complex needs experience as my eldest daughter Lizzie had a genetic degenerative brain disorder and I was her full time carer for 20 years.

I'd like to use my invaluable experience to still have purpose and keep the cogs turning!

My Qualifications

I don't have any official qualifications in childcare but I am a parent, a grandparent and was a full time carer for a complex needs child for 20 years.

My Availability

I am flexible and happy to discuss the families needs.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
