About Me

We are a young family based in Colchester with a happy, energetic 3-year-old son, and our second baby is arriving at the end of August 2026 by planned C-section. I work full-time in IT and my wife is currently pregnant, so we are getting our childcare cover organised in advance.

Our main need right now is care for our son at our home around the delivery, as the hospital will not confirm the exact surgery date until shortly beforehand. This means we are looking for someone who can be flexible and available across a few specific dates in August.

We are looking for someone experienced, reliable and genuinely comfortable with toddlers, ideally a babysitter or nanny who can come to us at home. We are open to a short-term arrangement for the August dates, and there may also be scope for more regular care after the baby arrives if it works well for everyone.

Hello! We are looking for a reliable nanny to care for our 3-year-old son at our home tomorrow (Wednesday, August 26th).
We are currently at the hospital awaiting the birth of our second child! Things are taking a bit longer than expected, and the baby hasn't arrived yet. We have childcare sorted for today, but we need someone to step in for tomorrow so we can focus on the delivery.
The Care Plan:
The Setup: You would care for our son at our house while we remain at the hospital.
Timing & Flexibility: We anticipate needing care for about 8 to 10 hours. However, because labor and hospital timelines are entirely unpredictable, we need someone who can block out the full day just in case things take longer.
Handover: Once things are settled, I will return home to take over childcare.
If you have experience with energetic toddlers and are available tomorrow for this flexible arrangement, we would love to connect!

Brilliant with our 3-year-old during our baby scan

Sophie looked after our three-year-old son at our home on two occasions while we went for our baby scan appointments, as children aren't allowed in the scanner room. She stayed for around three hours each time and everything went really smoothly. Our son was very well looked after and happy, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were out. We'd happily book Sophie again and recommend her to other parents.
