Part Time Nanny With Special Needs Experience Job In Bridlington
About Me
I am an Assistant Case Manager for Chrysalis Case Management Ltd, supporting brain injured clients.
My Requirements
We are looking for a nanny to help our brain injured client spend time with his son, age 5 with possible Autism. We will require weekend support, mainly Sundays, for a few hours. Must be flexible and must be SEN trained. May require more hours in school holidays. The nanny will be required to collect the child from his home in Hull and take him to his Dad's home in Walkington, near Beverley for supervised contact time. May be required to assist on days out/ activities.
This is a child-focused role: your priority is creating a safe, settled, positive experience for the child and supporting smooth handovers.
Key responsibilities:
Provide attentive, nurturing care during contact sessions (initially day visits).
Support pick-ups/drop-offs and agreed handovers, ensuring the child’s safety at all times.
Communicate clearly with the case management/support team: brief updates, punctual handovers, and reporting any concerns promptly.
Keep accurate notes if requested (e.g., timings, activities, any incidents).
Essential requirements:
SEN experience
Proven childcare experience (nannying, nursery, teaching assistant, or similar)
Confident managing routines and transitions.
Excellent safety awareness in the community (roads, busy environments).
Professional, calm manner—able to de-escalate stress.
Strong reliability: punctual, organised, and consistent.
Comfortable working alongside a support team and following guidance/structure.
Driving & practicalities:
Full, clean UK driving licence and confident driver (pick ups/ drop offs/ activities).
Ability to transport the child safely (appropriate car seat arrangements as required).
Confidentiality, boundaries & safeguarding (non-negotiable):
Strict confidentiality: you must not share private information about the father, home, staff, or circumstances.
Communication with the child’s other parent must remain polite, brief, and child-focused (e.g., wellbeing and practical handover only).
Willing to sign and follow a privacy/boundaries agreement and adhere to safeguarding procedures.
Desirable (nice-to-haves):
Safeguarding/first aid training.
Experience supporting contact arrangements or working with separated families.
Hours, location & pay:
Hours: 4 hours on Sundays but the occasional Saturday. Flexibility in school holidays.
Location: Near Beverley, East Yorkshire.
Pay: £30 per hour plus fuel and expense reimbursements for pick ups/ drop offs and activities.
