I am a caring, creative and emotionally attuned nanny, with diverse experience working with children between 8 months and 13 years in home, nursery and school settings. I am passionate about creating a safe, loving and joyful environment for children to thrive in.
My attentive listening and calm presence make me a good communicator and able to deal with the difficult moments that sometimes come up. I am fluent in English and German.
Some of the activities I might do with children:
Arts and Crafts - In my free time I enjoy doing art in a range of mediums, especially painting, printing and drawing, and this is something I love to share with children. I love to sew and have led a group of nine 6-12 year olds in a weekly sewing club, some of whom were complete beginners. We could do painting, making collages, modelling clay, leaf rubbings and so much more!
Cooking and Baking - I have often cooked and baked together with children I’m caring for, and can find age-appropriate jobs for all kids to help out. I find this to be a great way to get them engaging with their food and trying new things.
I love to take children outdoors, into the garden or local park- to play games or learn about plants and animals. I also love gardening and if practicalities allow would love to grow some fruit and veg together.
Reading and telling stories - I also really enjoy reading to or together with children as well as playing imaginative story telling games.
I am also open to helping with home care such as doing laundry, preparing nutritious food, light cleaning and organising.
My Experience
From July 2024 I spent a year working as a teaching assistant in a democratic school in Leipzig, Germany. I was mainly in a group with 9-12 year olds where I supported children during lesson time with their Maths, German and English work. I also worked in the after school club with 5-10 year olds. In the second half of the school year I ran a weekly sewing session, and also did several one off sessions such as cooking and crafting.
I worked as a part–time nursery assistant at Lindens Nursery in Stroud, for 2 months to support with getting the new children settled in at the beginning of the year. I also did after school nannying for a family with 2 kids (4 and 6) in Stroud for 6 months, as well as being a one to one support in Nursery with one of the children for a month while she was struggling with being there.
In 2021 I worked as nanny for one month, looking after an 8 month old full-time before he started nursery. I played with him, took him for walks in the park, changed his nappies and fed him.
Previously to that I did baby sitting for several families. In 2020 I spent 2 months looking after my cousins, 2 and 6, while their parents were travelling for work. Their grandmother was also there but I was mainly responsible for spending time with the kids, probably about 4-7 hours a day. My main responsibilities were to play with the kids both indoors and outdoors, to get them dressed in the morning and ready for bed and to cook them lunch and dinner. My 6-year-old cousin was just about to start school so I supported with her reading practice.
My Qualifications
I have completed a variety of un-accredited courses including Effective Safeguarding Practice, Paediatric First Aid and Learning in Nature.
A-Level: Mathematics (A*), English Literature (A*), Computer Science (A)
My Availability
I'm available every day of the week, looking for about 25hrs of nannying work in total, either with one family or splitting my days between different families.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £14.50 per hour
- Nannying from £16.00 per hour (gross)
Happy to discuss fees depending on number of children and responsibilities. If you need me for 3hrs or less at one time, it will be minimum £18 per hour.
