Registered Childminder Job in Bedford
About Me
I’m a single mum and work as a manager at Bedford Hospital, so finding someone reliable, trustworthy and caring to support my family is very important to me.
My baby was born prematurely at 33 weeks, so I’m particularly keen to find someone who is patient, nurturing and confident caring for a young baby. I want someone who will provide a safe, calm and loving environment and who genuinely enjoys being around children.
For the right nanny, I’m open to a live-in arrangement. I’m friendly, respectful and family-oriented.
I also recently had the experience of hosting a Ukrainian refugee in my home, so I understand the importance of making someone feel welcome, comfortable and respected when sharing a home.
I have a spare room and I want to provide a comfortable and welcoming home, while also respecting the nanny’s privacy, independence and time off.
My Requirements
From April 2027 - baby will be 11 months old.
Childcare Required – 4 Days a Week | Live-In Option Available
Looking for a reliable, caring and experienced childcare provider to look after my child 4 days a week, from approximately 7:30am to 6:00pm. The days will include weekend hours, so some flexibility with the working days is important.
Particularly interested in someone who is registered and able to accept the UK 30 Hours Free Childcare funding and Tax-Free Childcare payments.
**Live-In “Split” Arrangement
This would suit someone who would like to live in the property but work a part-time childcare schedule.
The nanny would be expected to support with taking my child to and collecting them from their childminder 3 to 4 days during weekdays (times can be negotiated).
Typical weekday responsibilities would include:
-Preparing my child in the morning and getting them ready for the childminder.
-Dropping my child at the childminder (I need to leave for work around 7h50 am).
-Collecting my child from the childminder (I arrive from work at approximately 6:00pm).
-Bringing my child home and helping them settle into the evening (bath, change clothes).
-Tidying up after the child and carrying out light housekeeping related to the child.
-Helping with the child's laundry (which can be done during weekend duties) and keeping their areas organised.
In addition, I would need childcare at home for approximately 2–3 weekend days per month, with the specific days and times agreed in advance.
Finally, if required, support with night time childcare during my working days (so 4 nights a week). Currently, at 4 months old, baby only needs 1 nap change and a bottle through the night so hopefully the care needed at 10 months will be minimal.
The live-in arrangement would include:
-Accommodation in a spare room within my home (free in exchange for the above duties).
-A contribution of 30% towards household utility bills.
-3 full days and nights off each week, time off during the time child is at the childminder.
As the child would be at the childminder during the day, the nanny would have free time during those hours and would be welcome to use this time for another job, personal commitments or other activities.
The nanny would also have 3 days off each week, during which they would be free to work elsewhere or use their time as they wish.
There would be no childcare required during half-term holidays.
During part of the summer school holidays (approximately 2 weeks), the live-in accommodation would need to be temporarily vacated as my parents may stay at the property and provide childcare support. The nanny's belongings could remain in the room if required. The nanny could take this 2 weeks to take some holiday herself.
