My Experience

I am a fully qualified Primary teacher and have been teaching young children and young people for a number of years in different school and college settings. I have taught many subjects including (but not limited to) English, Phonics, Maths, understanding of the world, science, art & design, personal, social and emotional development skills, cooking, religious education, and music.
During my degree, I was encouraged to choose a specialism and I chose to specialise in my area of passion: Early Years education. I have knowledge and expertise in teaching early years children and particularly I am passionate about children learning through experience and play! I also have had extensive training and experience in utilising outdoor learning to develop children's experiences and opportunities to learn. I am passionate about inspiring creativity, interest-led experiences and play-based learning opportunities using open-ended and interesting toys and equipment.
I have undertaken much training (including Makaton, which I incorporate into my practice) and have knowledge and experience in working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs including Autism, ADHD, AUDHD, Down's Syndrome, Selective Mutism and SEMH. I am dedicated to providing an inclusive setting for all children and families, including a rich and diverse curriculum of learning ensuring positive representations as well as knowledge, tolerance and respect for others.
I am dedicated to safeguarding and protection, undergoing training in this area, whilst always being on the look out to improve my knowledge and practice even more.
I have a passion for early years teaching and I am always researching and undergoing training to find out more and improve myself and my knowledge.

I am a creative, kind, nurturing and friendly person who provides a warm, nurturing environment that puts the most value on positive, caring relationships with children and families. I have always prided myself on maintaining a positive and supportive relationship with all child and young people I teach alongside their parents and carers, to enable everyone to be happy, safe, and secure.

My Qualifications

- Qualified Primary Education teacher with a 1st class honours degree in Primary Education with a specialism in Early Years
- Paediatric First Aid
- Makaton Sign Language Qualification (Level 3)
- Food hygiene (Level 3)
- Safeguarding & Child Protection
- Meeting the Early Years Foundation Stage Welfare Requirements
- Autism Awareness
- PREVENT training
- Meeting the Early Years Foundation Stage Learning and Development Requirements

• Childminding from £6.00 per hour
