Seeking a reliable, loving part-time nanny on a long-term basis
About Me
We’re a warm, busy family of four living in Weston, Bath, with two young children. Our daughter is 4 and about to start school, and our son is 2.
We’re looking for a wonderful nanny to become a valued and trusted part of our family. While we’re currently looking for part-time support, we really see this as the beginning of a longer-term relationship and would love to find someone who could be part of our children’s lives for years to come as our family’s needs evolve.
Both of us have busy careers, so having someone we can trust and rely on is really important to us. Just as importantly, we want our children to have someone who is warm, loving and genuinely enjoys spending time with them.
We’re a relaxed and affectionate family and would love to find someone who feels comfortable becoming part of family life, rather than it feeling like a purely transactional childcare arrangement. We’ll really value the right person and want them to feel appreciated, trusted and at home with us.
My Requirements
Our main childcare need is on Wednesdays, when both of us need to be in London for work.
We’re looking for someone who can start at around 7am, help get the children up and give them breakfast, then take our daughter to school (must be able to drive). During the day, you would look after our 2-year-old son, before doing school pick-up in the afternoon and looking after both children through tea, bath and bedtime.
Occasionally, we may both need to stay in London on a Wednesday night, so we’d ideally love to find someone who would also be comfortable staying overnight with the children from time to time.
We are also likely to need some support on Thursdays, although the exact shape of this is a little more flexible as we have some family help. Initially, we’d like to offer regular Thursday hours, potentially including breakfast and the school run, followed by some family / household support while the children are at school or with family - for example children’s washing, changing bedding, organising their things, light tidying and batch cooking for the family. We are happy to discuss the shape of this element of the role.
There may also be opportunities for additional hours from time to time, and we’d love to find someone whose role could grow and evolve with our family over the longer term.
