Kelly
Maternity Nurse in Stroud (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I'm Kelly, a registered midwife with 15 years of clinical experience, currently stepping into freelance work after leaving my most recent role and looking to build something that genuinely fits around my life and makes a real difference to the families I work with.
Whether you need a knowledgeable pair of hands for a few hours, some extra help in the early weeks of parenting, or someone to step in for home and childcare support — I'd love to hear from you.
I'm based just outside of Stroud town with my two grumpy cats, I love folk music, nature documentaries and really good coffee. I have a calm, steady temperament, but plenty of energy to keep up with little people.
I have access to my own vehicle and a full driving license.
I'm available for:
- Maternity nursing (night nannying negotiable)
- support with newborn care and breastfeeding
- Infant/baby care
- Ad hoc childcare for all ages
- Mother's helper, inclusive of house re-set services.
My Experience
I’ve spent most of my career working with new families, as a community midwife, helping them with the rollercoaster transition to parenthood in their own homes.
I’ve also worked privately as a postpartum doula, providing help and support as a ‘mother’s helper’ – tending to the home, the new baby, and older children.
I have extensive support helping new mothers with breastfeeding support and post-birth recovery, and the early days of life with a new baby.
I’m a devoted auntie to four nephews, and godmother to three godchildren, all of whom I’ve been heavily involved with throughout their lives.
I have particular experience with multiples, both through my work and also with my twin godchildren, and would be confident to support a family with twins or more in the home.
From my work, I am most experienced with babies and infants, but have plenty of experience with toddlers and older children also.
I have an up-to-date infant and child life support qualification (this also includes basic first aid as well as emergency skills), and high level safeguarding training.
