My Summary
About Me
I am a native French teacher with over 18 years of experience across independent schools, private households and online education. I previously served as Head of Modern Foreign Languages at a leading independent school in Belgravia and now specialise in high-quality, structured tuition.
I work with students who need more than occasional support — whether they lack confidence, need structure, or are preparing for exams. Many learners struggle to speak because they feel overwhelmed, so my approach focuses on making the language clear and accessible from the start, then guiding them step by step towards confident use.
My lessons are carefully structured and highly interactive. I use short dialogues, videos, songs and storytelling so that students understand the language in context before using it themselves. This allows them to experience early success, which quickly builds confidence and engagement.
I have extensive experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level, particularly in developing speaking confidence, structuring written work and improving exam performance. Alongside this, I design structured programmes that support long-term progress and independent learning.
My aim is always the same: to help students become confident, independent users of the language — not just to learn it, but to actually use it.

We started just a few months ago and the difference is already clear. My child looks forward to sessions and is making real progress with French. Sandra has a real understanding of how to pitch things at the right level and keep students motivated. We’re delighted with how it’s going.

Sandra is an excellent French tutor who has really helped our year 8 son build both confidence and consistency. Her lessons are very well structured, which makes it much easier to understand and retain new language.
She explains things clearly and uses a mix of speaking, listening and practical activities so that learning feels natural rather than overwhelming. There is a strong focus on actually using the language, which has made a big difference in confidence when speaking.
She is also very supportive and encouraging, while still maintaining high standards. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for serious progress in French.

Sandra has been tutoring our daughter for GCSE French and the progress has been remarkable. She has a real talent for explaining grammar clearly while keeping lessons engaging and encouraging. Our daughter’s confidence in speaking has improved significantly and she now approaches exams much more calmly. Sandra is always well prepared and adapts the lessons to exactly what the student needs. We are extremely grateful for her support and would highly recommend her.
