About Me
Hello, my name is Holly and I am a caring, reliable and passionate childminder dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing and fun environment where children can learn and grow.
I live with my husband, Ben, who is a firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician, and our two children aged 5 and 8. As a family, we are warm, friendly and supportive, and our home is full of kindness, laughter and respect. My children are used to being around younger children and are kind, gentle and welcoming, helping to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
Ben’s role in the emergency services reflects the strong values we share as a family — responsibility, safety and caring for others. This also brings an added level of reassurance to our home environment.
We also have a beautiful golden Labrador called Lenny who is 2 years old. Lenny is friendly, gentle and wonderful with children. He is fully vaccinated and well-trained. Having a family dog gives children the opportunity to learn about caring for animals in a safe and fully supervised environment at all times.
Our home is clean, organised and child-friendly, with plenty of toys, creative activities and a secure outdoor space for children to explore. We enjoy outdoor play, visits to local parks, arts and crafts, reading and learning through play.
I work closely with parents to ensure each child’s individual needs are met, helping them to grow in confidence and feel happy, safe and supported while in my care.
My Experience
I have worked with children since the age of 15, starting in nurseries, schools, and youth groups. Over the years, I have gained experience supporting children of different ages, abilities, and personalities. Working in these settings has helped me understand the importance of patience, routine, creativity, and providing a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive.
I have experience planning engaging activities, supporting early learning and development, encouraging positive behaviour, and helping children build confidence and independence. I understand how important communication is between parents and carers, and I always aim to work in partnership with families to ensure each child’s individual needs are met.
Growing up with three siblings has also played a big part in shaping who I am. From a young age, I naturally took on responsibility and learned how to care for and support younger children. This has helped me develop strong nurturing instincts, adaptability, and the ability to manage different personalities calmly and fairly.
I am passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment where children feel safe, valued, and happy. My goal is always to provide a home-from-home setting where children can learn through play, build friendships, and feel confident being themselves.
My Qualifications
I hold a Paediatric First Aid certificate, ensuring I am fully trained to respond quickly and confidently in the event of an emergency. I also have up to date Safeguarding training, which enables me to recognise and respond appropriately to any concerns, always prioritising the safety and wellbeing of the children in my care.
In addition, I have Food Safety and Hygiene training, ensuring that all meals and snacks are prepared, stored, and handled safely to maintain high standards of cleanliness and health.
I am committed to maintaining a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for every child. I am always eager to continue developing in my career by renewing my qualifications regularly and expanding my knowledge through ongoing training and professional development.
