My Experience
I have been caring for my own children for over 10 years, and through that experience, I have gained the knowledge, patience, and practical skills needed to become a childminder. Looking after my children every day has taught me how to create a safe, loving, and structured environment where children can feel secure and happy.
I have managed daily routines such as preparing healthy meals, school runs, helping with homework, organising play and learning activities, and supporting their emotional wellbeing. I understand how children grow and develop at different stages, and I know the importance of encouragement, positive discipline, and clear communication.
Being a parent has also helped me develop strong organisational skills, responsibility, and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations. I am confident that my 10 years of hands-on childcare experience have prepared me well to care for other children with the same level of dedication, safety, and compassion.
My Qualifications
I have achieved my GCSE qualification, which has given me a strong educational foundation in key subjects such as English and Mathematics. This has helped me develop good communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills, which are essential when working with children and families.
In addition, I have completed a certificate in Health and Care Support for Children. This qualification has provided me with important knowledge about child development, safeguarding, health and safety, and promoting children’s wellbeing. Through this training, I gained a clear understanding of how to support children’s physical, emotional, and social needs in a safe and nurturing environment.
These qualifications, together with my practical experience, have prepared me to provide high-quality care and support for children in a professional and responsible manner.
