Bessie
Nanny in Manchester
My Summary
About Me
I am a kind, patient and nurturing nanny with a genuine passion for supporting children’s emotional development. I have several years’ experience working with primary aged children, including supporting children with additional needs, and I really value creating a calm, safe environment where children feel heard and understood.
My strengths lie in building trusting relationships and helping children regulate their emotions, develop confidence and feel secure in themselves. I am playful and fun, but also consistent and emotionally attuned, I believe children thrive when they feel both safe and understood.
I enjoy planning engaging, creative activities tailored to each child’s interests, while also supporting routines, independence and positive behaviour in a gentle, respectful way.
My Experience
I have four years experience working in a primary school, where I supported children across a range of ages, including those with additional needs. During this time, I worked closely with children who needed extra emotional support, and I developed strong skills in building trust, supporting regulation and creating a calm, consistent environment. I particularly loved working with children who needed a little more patience and understanding to feel safe and confident.
Alongside my school experience, I have also worked in childminding and babysitting roles, caring young children in home environments. This has given me hands on experience with routines, feeding, sleep, play based learning and supporting early development.
On a personal level, I grew up in a big family and have always been very involved in caring for younger relatives, including babies and toddlers. I also have personal experience supporting my brother who has additional needs, which has given me a deeper understanding of patience, advocacy and the importance of emotional safety and consistency.
Overall, I bring both professional experience and lived understanding to my work with children. I am calm, nurturing and emotionally aware, and I genuinely care about helping children feel secure, understood and confident in themselves.
My Qualifications
While I do not hold formal childcare qualifications, I have four years professional experience working within a primary school setting, supporting children across different ages and needs.
During this time, I completed relevant training including Paediatric First Aid, safeguarding and child protection, and SEN focused courses. I have also received training around behaviour support and working with children with additional needs, alongside hands on experience supporting emotional regulation and development in a structured setting.
My experience, combined with my practical childminding work and personal background supporting children in a large family, has given me strong, real world childcare skills grounded in both professional training and lived understanding
