The Hearth and Horizon CIC
Our Summary
About Us
Montessori-Inspired Learning Community for Home Educated Children (Ages 8–12)
Hearth and Horizon is a Montessori-inspired community for children aged 8–12, supporting home-educated children, flexi-schooling families, and those seeking an alternative to mainstream education.
We provide a calm, nurturing environment where children can develop confidence, independence, and curiosity through hands-on learning, project work, nature connection, practical life skills, and collaborative learning. Our approach is informed by Montessori principles for the second plane of development and focuses on community, responsibility, and real-world learning.
We welcome children from a range of educational backgrounds. Those transitioning from school may need time to decompress and rediscover their confidence and love of learning, and we work closely with families during this process.
Hearth and Horizon is a voluntarily Ofsted-registered childcare setting, meaning some families may be able to access Tax-Free Childcare and other childcare support schemes.
