About Me
I am an experienced and dedicated tutor and childcare provider with over 15 years of experience working in education, supporting children in both mainstream and SEN settings. As a parent to three older children, including one with Special Educational Needs, I have a genuine understanding of the importance of adapting learning to meet each child's individual needs.
Alongside my experience in schools, I run a successful full-time tutoring business, providing personalised one-to-one English and Maths tuition for children aged 4–12. I offer tailored, face-to-face support designed to build confidence, strengthen core skills, and help every child reach their potential. I also have experience supporting children who are home educated.
I specialise in phonics and early literacy, helping children develop strong foundations and, most importantly, a love of learning. My sessions are engaging, fun, and carefully adapted to suit each child's learning style, ensuring they feel motivated, supported, and confident.
Having recently stepped away from working in schools, I now focus entirely on my tutoring business, allowing me to provide flexible, high-quality support to families. During school holidays, I also offer childcare, creating a safe, nurturing, and enjoyable environment where children can continue to learn, play, and thrive.
I am kind, patient, reliable, and passionate about helping children grow in confidence, achieve their goals, and enjoy their learning journey.
My Experience
With over 15 years' experience working in mainstream education, I have supported children across KS1 and KS2, with a particular focus on those with SEND, including ADHD, autism, speech and language needs, and school-based anxiety.
I hold an Enhanced DBS check and have completed extensive professional training throughout my career, ensuring my knowledge remains current and relevant to the needs of the children and families I support.
Before moving into education, I worked as an HR Director. After having my own children, I chose to pursue a more fulfilling career where I could make a direct and lasting difference to young people's lives. My background in leadership, combined with my educational experience, enables me to build strong relationships with children, parents, and professionals, creating supportive, personalised approaches that help children develop confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning.
My Qualifications
Ba Hons English Literature & Linguistics. 3 A Levels & 9 GCSEs including Maths & English.
My Availability
Currently I am very flexible as long as it works around my other bookings. Please note deposit will be taken to secure bookings. I am currently providing some top up and settling in sessions over the Summer.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £25.00 per hour
- Tutoring from £35.00 per hour
Tutoring - 35.00 per hour, if booking a block of hours I will discount depending on the needs of the child.
Babysitting - £25.00 - will discount Is block booking or siblings
