About Me
My name is Naema Popp and I have a keen interest in working as your childcare provider. I am a passionate and dedicated first-year student at the University of British Columbia in Canada in good academic standing. I am currently residing in London. I am detail-oriented, a quick learner, and excel at tasks that require constant learning and flexibility. I am bilingual (French and English) and a voracious reader.
Working as a childcare provider does not only provide me personal fulfillment but also allows me to give back to my community. Community is extremely important to me and I have fond memories of my various nannies, many of whom have been key positive figures in my life and development. In working as a childcare provider, I am hoping to act as that positive figure for someone else.
My Experience
I love working with children, and have been babysitting with Red Cross certification since the age of ten. I most recently worked as a coach for ages 4-11 at Kitsilano Gymnastics Club. While classes were often large, I made sure every child learned at their skill level, felt appreciated, and practiced safe gymnastics. I am kind, patient, and genuinely love to spend my time teaching and being around children of a variety of ages.
Prior to working as a gymnastics coach, I have been in a number of babysitting and nannying roles. For example, last summer, I nannied for two children aged 3 and 6 twice per week as their parents went through a challenging period. I form strong bonds with the children I care for and act as a mentor and guiding figure. I lead a healthy and responsible lifestyle, and I place value on physical and emotional well-being. In addition to working with you to achieve parenting goals, I place special emphasis on building transferable life skills such as self-confidence, curiosity, emotional literacy, and problem solving in the children I work with through games and imaginative play. I am a strong believer in the benefits of outdoor and child-led play to support development and build appreciation for nature, and am particularly fond of taking care of children outdoors.
My Qualifications
I am Emergency First Aid and CPR/AED certified and have 9 years of childcare experience. Additionally, I am Gymnastics Foundations certified, a training program focused on coaching safe and engaging gymnastics classes.
My Availability
I have flexible availability from May to July - my schedule can be altered to fit your needs!
My Fees
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
I charge a sliding-scale rate in which you pay between 10 to 13 pounds per hour depending on what you can afford.
