My Summary
About Me
I’m a 19 year old female with experience in childcare & genuine love for children of all ages.
My Experience
YOUTH WORK
In March 2022, I volunteered at a local youth centre, where I helped run activities and contributed to creating a safe and welcoming space for young people. I’ve always really enjoyed working with children, and this experience gave me the chance to connect with them and support their growth in a meaningful way. I also worked closely with autistic children, making sure activities were inclusive and suited to their individual needs, while showing patience and understanding. Day to day, I helped set things up, joined in with activities, and encouraged the young people to take part and feel confident. I especially valued being able to listen and support them, helping each child feel comfortable and included. Overall, it was a really rewarding experience that helped me grow in confidence and strengthened my desire to work with children.
NANNYING
I am currently working as a nanny, where I provide daily care and support for children in a home environment. My responsibilities include preparing meals, organising routines, and ensuring the children attend their clubs and activities on time. I take pride in creating a positive and nurturing atmosphere, where the children feel safe, comfortable, and supported. I genuinely love working with the children and building strong, trusting relationships with them, which helps me understand their personalities and needs. I enjoy engaging with them in activities, games, baking/cooking and being outdoors, encouraging their development, and being a reliable and supportive presence in their daily lives. This experience has strengthened my ability to manage responsibilities independently while maintaining a caring and structured environment and enjoying their presence.
NURSERY
I am currently working in a nursery, where I care for children aged 3 months to 18 months, having previously supported children aged 18 months to 3 years. My role involves providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports each child’s early development. I am responsible for planning and engaging in age-appropriate activities, supporting feeding routines, changing nappies, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and care. I closely monitor developmental progress and work to support key milestones through play, interaction, and consistent routines. Building strong, trusting relationships with both the children and their families is a key part of my role, as I aim to ensure every child feels secure, valued, and understood. I also work collaboratively with my team to create a positive and supportive setting, adapting to each child’s individual needs while promoting their confidence and independence.
