My Experience

I have over 30 years’ experience as a qualified primary teacher, Intervention Teacher and SENCo, supporting children across EYFS and the primary years. I work with learners who need extra time, gentle reassurance and confidence building, helping them feel secure and capable as they grow. My experience includes reading, phonics, writing, maths foundations, SATs preparation and supporting children who are learning English as an additional language through clear, language?rich activities.

Alongside this, I specialise in 11+ preparation across English, maths, verbal reasoning and non?verbal reasoning. I help children build strong core skills, develop exam techniques and approach timed tasks with confidence. My teaching is structured, calm and tailored to each learner, ensuring they feel supported and ready for the challenges of the 11+.

Whether a child needs help with early reading, key primary skills, targeted intervention or 11+ preparation, I provide clear explanations, step?by?step modelling and enjoyable, engaging activities that make learning feel achievable. My goal is always the same: to help every child feel confident, capable and proud of their progress.

My Qualifications

I hold a BEd (Hons) in Primary Education and have additional TESOL training, enabling me to support children who are developing English as an additional language with clarity and care. I am fully trained in safeguarding and hold an enhanced DBS, along with up to date paediatric first aid certification. My qualifications reflect my commitment to creating a safe, nurturing environment where every child’s wellbeing, confidence, and individual learning needs are supported.

My Availability

I offer both daytime and after school sessions to suit different family routines, including dedicated daytime spaces for Home Educated children who benefit from calm, structured learning during school hours. Sessions are available as small groups or 1:1, giving each child the support and reassurance they need at a pace that feels right for them.

• Tutoring from £20.00 per hour

Families are welcome to contact me at Primary Foundations Tuition to discuss the best type of support for their child, as fees depend on the session chosen. Group sessions start from £20, and I’m always happy to talk through options and find the right fit for your child’s needs
