About Me

Leighton is a happy, funny, loving and energetic 5-year-old with a wonderful personality. He loves being active, playing outdoors, exploring and having fun. Once he feels comfortable with someone, he can build a really lovely relationship with them and enjoys having someone who will join in with the things he loves.
Leighton is autistic and has some additional needs around sensory processing, emotional regulation and transitions. He benefits from a calm, patient and understanding approach, clear routines and knowing what is happening next. We are looking for someone who will take the time to get to know Leighton as an individual, understand what helps him feel safe and settled, and build a trusting relationship with him.
We are a friendly, down-to-earth family and are looking for someone kind and reliable who can become a trusted part of Leighton’s routine. I am a working mum in a management role and work three days a week in the office, which is why we need support on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
From September, Leighton will be starting an exciting new chapter at a new school alongside a short-term outreach placement. This means his routine will be a little different for the first 12 weeks, with some drop-offs, collections and travel between his two settings.
We are very approachable and would like whoever supports Leighton to feel comfortable communicating openly with us and to feel part of the team around him. Most importantly, we want to find someone we can trust who genuinely enjoys spending time with Leighton, celebrates all the wonderful things about him and can help make this period of change a happy, safe and positive experience for him.
I can also help you with the “What we’re looking for in a nanny” section—it would be worth mentioning that SEND experience is desirable rather than essential, so you don't accidentally rule out a brilliant nanny who connects really well with Leighton.

PART-TIME NANNY / CHILDCARE SUPPORT REQUIRED – SEPTEMBER TO DECEMBER

We are looking for a kind, reliable and patient nanny to support our 5-year-old son on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 7:30am until 4:30pm, during a temporary transition period between his new school and an outreach setting.

First 6 weeks: • Start at our home at 7:30am and care for our son before his morning setting. • Drop him at his outreach setting for 9:00am. • Collect him at 11:00am and take him to his school. • Collect him from school at approximately 3:00–3:15pm. • Care for him until 4:30pm.

Second 6 weeks: • Start at our home at 7:30am. • Drop him at school between 8:45–9:00am. • Collect him from school at 12:30pm and take him to his outreach setting for 1:00pm. • Collect him from the outreach setting at approximately 3:00–3:15pm. • Care for him until 4:30pm.

There will be periods during the day when our son is attending his educational settings and direct childcare is not required, so we are happy to discuss how the split hours and availability would work with the right person.

Our son is autistic and is also undergoing assessment for ADHD. He has a PDA profile and can find transitions and changes in routine challenging, so we are looking for someone calm, patient and understanding who can build a trusting relationship with him and provide consistency during this transitional period.

A full driving licence and access to a reliable car are essential due to the drop-offs, collections and travel between settings.

This is initially a temporary role covering his transition period from September to December. We are happy to discuss hours, pay and the arrangement in more detail with anyone interested.
