My Experience

I work alone, which enables me to be more flexible with routines and activities and i am able to offer a homely environment for children to settle in with a property completely renovated downstairs and outside solely for the children and their individual needs in mind.. I offer a friendly professional and reliable childcare service. I have a no smacking and a no smoking policy.

The children have free access to the resources in my home, although I do set up inviting activities for the children to investigate and explore, some of these activities are focused activities where a specific outcome is encouraged although spontaneity and tangents are always encouraged and welcomed, and some of the activities are for the children to access independently learning where adult intervention is only needed to support, assist or extend. Indoor activities include constructional & messy play, cooking, arts and crafts, lots of fun toys, ICT and educational toys. We also enjoy both indoor & outdoor role play, dressing up, imaginative and creative play. Outdoor we enjoy football, 1 hole 'pitch n put', tennis, rideables and many more. For the younger ones there is a cornered off section where we can have soft play ball pool, sand & water smaller ride ons and sensory etc.
A very important part of a child's health and well being is being able to have regular exercise and fresh air so this is ideal. the lean-to at the back of the property is perfect for an indoor/ outdoor space in all weather's.

Having been a working mum I understand the stresses and pressures balancing work & home life. Using childcare providers is essential to working parents and I aim to provide an excellent service that meets parents needs whilst ensuring a safe, caring, loving and enjoyable learning environment for the children. I have many indoor and outdoor activities and I am fully equipped for all ages. I take the children out when possible to toddler groups, stay and plays, ThorsbyPark, Clumber Park Rufford Park, Sherwood Pines, Sherwood Forest, Vicar Water, Sherwood Steam Railway and also special trips for example White Post Farm, Wheelgate Park, Willow Tree Farm, Garden Centres, Soft Play Areas. This will all be only with the parent/carers permission and with lots of notice. I also take children to Caterpillar music, Rhyme time, library's, swimming, local toddler groups etc. All this allows the children to access the community and the surrounding areas and get to explore the different environments, cultures, beliefs and are able to develop lots of different skills such as social skills, fine and gross motor skills as well as broadly covering the
seven areas of learning.

I like to work closely with you and I love to share your child’s day and learning with you through a daily diary and also discussion at the end of the day. I also produce a progress journal and track your child's next steps, which follows your child from it's very early years and stages of development into toddlers and then the transition to school full time. This is a place for you, your child and I to record all the many wondrous and precious moments we loose and forget with our aging children..

I offer healthy snacks and drinks which are provided in the morning and afternoon and I also provide Breakfast and home cooked meals for Lunch and Dinner varying the menu weekly. (at an additional cost special dietary requirements catered for or alternatively please feel free to provide your own child's lunch or dinner.)

My Qualifications

I have been a Childminder for the last 16 and half years. I have gained a Strong in my last OFSTED inspection January 2026. where ALL areas are Strong. As I am a retired teacher I have over 20 years experience of working with a variety of ages and abilities gaining many good and outstanding Ofsted inspections there too. I have vast experience of looking after and being responsible for the safe guarding and well-being of children with all different needs; Dyslexia, Dispraxia, ADD, ADHD, Deaf, Partial Sighted, Downs Syndrom, Attachment Disorder, Autism and many more. I am registered with Ofsted, PACEY Coram and have gained my certificate in Childminding. I am a qualified first aider. I have attended many courses throughout my career and gained extra qualifications in Safe Guarding, food & hygiene, Health and safety Attachment Disorder,Beginning with Babies, Talking Matters and Fire Safety. I have a full driving licence and my own car with an abundance of car seats for all different ages.

My Availability

I currently have vacancies for part time, full time and holiday care, all inquiries welcome. Both full and part time spaces available. I am available for work Monday to Friday 7.30 am - 5.pm however I may be negotiable and flexible with hours outside these times.

I offer drop off's and pick up's to and from home if necessary. and local schools; Walesby, Ollerton, Tuxford and Edwinstowe, depending on the day or times required. ( There may be an additional cost depending please enquire).
