About Me
My partner, Jonny, and I live in Royston and are expecting our first baby in July. Jonny is a firefighter at Islington in London and I work in finance in London. We're sporty and love the outdoors and anything adventurous!
My Requirements
We're new to this and currently working our options for childcare when we go back to work (likely March 2027 - current plan is that I'll take 6 months maternity leave and then Jonny will take 2 months SPL).
Jonny knows his shift pattern but his working days and nights change every week so can't provide set help. I have to be in London for work 2-4 days a week (always Monday and Thursday, never Friday), leaving at ~7/730am and not back until ~8pm (with a few evening events which would run later.
We think we have 2 options: nursery with a babysitter to pick up our daughter and do dinner and bed or a nanny/childminder that does extended hours. (But if we're missing something, we're all ears!) We do have space for a live-in nanny if that's something of interest.
