My Experience

I am a highly experienced and qualified Mandarin teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience, specialising in GCSE, IGCSE, and A-Level Chinese across major exam boards including AQA, Cambridge, and Edexcel.

I work with motivated students who are aiming for top grades, as well as those who need structured support to build confidence and improve performance. My approach is tailored, strategic, and results-focused, ensuring every lesson delivers measurable progress.

I specialise in helping students build strong foundations across all four key skills — speaking, listening, reading, and writing — while developing accuracy, fluency, and confidence.

For exam students, I provide targeted preparation including:

I hold a BA in English Language and Chinese, alongside a PGCE in Mandarin Chinese, qualifying me to teach across the full secondary age range up to 18. I am a fully qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), with extensive teaching experience in both the UK and international settings.

My professional background includes preparing students for leading examination boards, combined with a deep understanding of curriculum design, assessment standards, and effective language acquisition strategies.

I am currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Education, further enhancing my expertise in pedagogy and ensuring my teaching remains research-informed, rigorous, and highly effective.

Lessons are conducted online only. Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends to suit students’ schedules.

• Tutoring from £30.00 per hour

My rates reflect my experience as a qualified teacher with over 10 years of expertise, as well as my specialised support for exam success and structured language development.

Beginner to Intermediate: £30 per hour

GCSE Chinese: £40 per hour

A-Level Chinese: £50 per hour

HSK Preparation:

HSK 1–3: £35 per hour

HSK 4–5: £45 per hour

HSK 6: £50 per hour
