About Me
Hi, my name is Sian and I am an experienced childminder based in Bassingbourn,South Cambridgeshire . I am currently undergoing registration with Ofsted and am planning to open from July/August 2026.
I have over 8 years of combined childcare experience, having worked in preschool settings as well as raising my own two children, who are now aged 12 and 15. I am passionate about providing a safe, nurturing and home-from-home environment where children can learn, play and grow.
My setting will be based in a dedicated summer house within my fully enclosed, secure garden. This space is designed specifically for childcare, offering a calm and engaging environment with access to outdoor play and learning opportunities.
I hold paediatric first aid, an enhanced DBS, food hygiene, and Level 2 safeguarding. I plan activities in line with the EYFS, supporting children’s development through play, exploration and routine.
I aim to build strong relationships with both children and parents, ensuring every child feels safe, happy and supported in their early years.

My Experience
I have over 8 years of combined childcare experience, working with children from babies through to preschool age.
I studied Childcare and Education in 2008 before beginning my career in an early years setting where I gained 2 years of hands-on experience supporting young children’s development through play and structured activities.
Following a parental break to raise my own children, I returned to childcare and worked at Smarties Preschool for 5 years, with key working studies and further developing my knowledge and experience within the Early Years sector.
As a parent to two children. I also bring valuable personal experience and understanding of children’s needs, routines and development.
Throughout my roles, I have supported children’s learning in line with the EYFS, helping them to develop socially, emotionally and physically in a safe and nurturing environment.
My Qualifications
My relevant qualifications to support the safety, care and development of children:
• Paediatric First Aid
• Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service)
• Food Hygiene Certificate
• Level 2 Safeguarding Children
I also studied Childcare and Education in 2008, providing a strong foundation in early years development.
All training has been renewed and updated in 2026 in line with current requirements, and I am currently undergoing different courses, and I committed to ongoing professional development to ensure I provide the highest standard of care
My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
My fees are £6 per hour, and set rates for school drop off and pick up.
