My Requirements

Maths Tutor Needed for Year 5 Child

We are looking for a patient and experienced maths tutor to support our 10-year-old son, who is currently in Year 5.

He is broadly okay with multiplication, but needs targeted help to close gaps in:

- division linked to multiplication;
- fractions of amounts;
- understanding fractions as numbers;
- decimals and place value;
- word problems and mathematical reasoning.

We are looking for someone who can teach in a structured, visual and encouraging way, using number lines, bar models, practical examples, money, and step-by-step methods.

Ideally, we are looking for support twice per month, with the possibility of increasing to three sessions per month depending on cost and availability. Small home-practice tasks between sessions would also be helpful.

Experience supporting children with ADHD, dyslexia or gaps in learning would be very helpful.

The goal is to build his confidence, close key Year 5 maths gaps, and prepare him properly for Year 6 and secondary school.
