Happy Cat
Play-Based Learning Mentor needed
About Me
Home-educating mum and qualified teacher with 20+ years’ experience, raising a bright, neurodiverse five-year-old in a warm, creative home. Our days are rich in play, outdoor learning, and curiosity-led projects. We value energy, imagination, and kindness, and are seeking a proactive, engaging mentor to support joyful, meaningful learning experiences together.
My Requirements
Creative Play Mentor
I’m looking for a warm, playful and reliable person to spend time engaging with my 5-year-old son in our home.
He is a happy, energetic and curious little boy who loves sensory play, stories, singing, movement, letters, ball games, outdoor play and discovering the world around him. He enjoys people who are willing to be silly, playful and follow his lead.
The role involves building a positive relationship through play and interaction, supporting him to engage in activities and celebrating the small moments of progress that make such a difference.
This is a physically active role. Applicants should be comfortable spending time on the floor, moving between activities and keeping pace with an energetic child who loves movement.
I am ideally looking for support for around 2 hours per day, Monday to Friday, although I can be flexible and am happy to work around the right person’s existing commitments and routine.
No specific qualifications are required. Kindness, patience, warmth, reliability and a willingness to learn are far more important than previous experience.
Full guidance and support will be provided.
This role may suit an Early Years practitioner, nanny, student, retired professional, home educator, or anyone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and has a naturally playful approach.
Please get in touch if this sounds like something you would enjoy.
