Helen
Nanny Required For 2 Year Old Girl
About Me
Hi
I'm Helen and looking for a nanny for my 2 year old niece Zara.
Just a brief background, the family live in the RM13 (south hornchurch area). I live nearby in Romford.
Mum is 45 and suffered a stroke early last year and hence has a left side weakness. Mum may occasionally ask for some help, such as unwrapping packages or doing up a zip or button, but other than that she is independent.
Mum does however need support to care for her 2 year old daughter Zara who can be quite active at times, and she's learning to regulate her emotions as most 2 year olds are ??
Zara is generally healthy, and has had her 2 year development checks with no concerns raised. She is a happy child, she likes playing and singing/dancing, she likes going to the park. She can sometimes get overwhelmed in loud, busy environments, and unexpectedly loud noises frighten her.
Her previous au pair taught her to speak Portuguese so she is quite fluent in the language. To us Zara is extremely precious. She is very loving and she gives the best cuddles.
Mum also has a 16 year old at home who is studying for her A levels, also a very beautifully natured young person.
I work full time but I do support my family when I can, and our mum (Zara's grandmother) also occasionally stays at the house to provide support.
We are from an African-Caribbean background, but we were all born in the UK.
My Requirements
A live in nanny is preferred, she will have her own bedroom and shower room/toilet. We are also happy to consider a live out nanny if local.
Zara attends nursery on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. Her nanny will need to get her up, washed, dressed and given breakfast on those days, and take her to nursery which is a 30 minute walk or 15 minute bus journey.
Her nanny will need to collect Zara from nursery, return her home, prepare and give her dinner, shower her and get her ready for bed, and put her to bed.
Sometimes Mum will assist with the bedtime routine but Zara's nanny must still be present.
The approximate hours on nursery days are 7am - 10am, and 4pm - 8.30pm
Zara is at home on Wednesdays and Thursdays so these are long days 7am - 8.30pm
Childcare is also required at weekends, currently every other weekend (I can do alternate weekends), again 7am - 8.30pm
These hours are approximate but give a rough idea.
Other duties include :
- preparing and giving all meals (except nursery days when lunch is given at nursery), and keeping the kitchen surfaces/area clean
- doing Zaras laundry, and packing her clothes away
- keeping Zaras bedroom clean & tidy
- playing with Zara and doing some creative tasks, and keeping TV to a minimum where possible
- keeping Zaras playroom clean & tidy at the end of the day
- toilet training (and instilling general hygiene like handwashing etc)
- on days when Zara is home we would like her to be washed and dressed every morning and showered at night.
- Zara's hair will need to be combed every couple of days and hair washed once a week.
- there may be times when Zara is unwell and unable to attend nursery, so overtime may be requested at these times.
We would love her nanny to treat Zara like she would her own, and also to feel like she's a part of our family. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our home ?
