Karen
Maternity Nurse in London
My Summary
About Me
I offer the expertise of over 30 years of professional infant experience, specialising in the care of newborn babies and supporting mothers in the early weeks following birth. I bring a reassuring confidence and nurturing qualities to each family, during what can be a very special yet sometimes overwhelming time.
I am returning to maternity nursing after raising my own family. Earlier in my career I worked in this role 24/6 usually for 4-6 weeks at a time. I went on to retrain in early childhood education and have spent many years working closely with infants, families, and student teachers, becoming a trusted source of guidance and support within both my centre and the wider community.
My approach is centred on building secure attachments and supporting parents both practically and emotionally as they recover and adjust to life with their new baby. I always take the lead from each family’s individual needs and parenting style, offering sensitive, non-judgemental guidance with feeding, sleep and establishing responsive routines
