Karen
Maternity Nurse in Stanmer
My Summary
About Me
I offer the expertise of 35 years of professional infant experience. Earlier in my career I specialised in the care of newborn babies and supporting mothers in the early weeks following birth, and I am now returning to work as a Newborn Care Specialist/ Postpartum Carer. I have recently gained my Level 4 Maternity Nurse Training & Postnatal Doula qualifications to support my experience.
I have relocated back to England from New Zealand in May 2026. As I re-establish my UK portfolio, for a limited number of bookings I am offering a reduced rate.
I am currently working nights with twins twice a week, and I am looking for something to work in with my current role. I have a number of years experience in this role prior to having my own children, working 24/6 usually for 4-6 weeks at a time. I went on to retrain, gaining my Bachelor of Teaching Degree in early childhood education and have spent the past 9 years as a Senior Teacher/Infant Room Lead working closely with infants, families, and student teachers.
My approach is centred on building secure attachments and supporting parents both practically and emotionally as they recover and adjust to life with their new baby. I always take the lead from each family’s individual needs and parenting style, offering sensitive, non-judgemental guidance with feeding, sleep and establishing responsive routines.
I have my New Zealand equivalent to DBS as that is where I have been living for the past 25 years.
