About Me
My name is Lorri-Anne and I am 22, I’m also currently a third-year BA (Hons) Early Years Education and Practice student, currently studying at the University of South Wales and working towards Early Years Practitioner Status, with an expected graduation in July 2026. I have gained valuable experience across a variety of early years settings, including reception, nursery, and private daycare, working with children from as young as 9 months up to 4 years old. These experiences have strengthened my ability to support children’s development through play-based learning, in line with the Curriculum for Wales.
I am passionate about creating engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate activities that encourage children’s curiosity, creativity, and confidence. I have developed strong skills in observation, communication, and behaviour management, and I am confident in supporting children with additional learning needs while promoting a safe and nurturing environment. My understanding of safeguarding procedures and child welfare is a key strength, and I am committed to ensuring every child feels secure, valued, and supported.
Alongside my studies, I have also gained transferable skills through roles in retail and hospitality, helping me to develop teamwork, adaptability, and strong customer service skills. I am a creative and active individual who enjoys arts and crafts, hiking, and going to the gym, which I often draw upon to inspire engaging learning opportunities for children.
I am also currently learning to drive, which will further support my flexibility and commitment to working across different settings. Overall, I am a motivated and caring practitioner who strives to make a positive impact on children’s early learning experiences.

I have had 3 university placements experiences working with children.
Ringland primary school , Newport -Placement in reception classroom
13th November 2023- 15th March 2024.
• Working with children at Key Stage 1, helping Teachers and SEN Assistants with
the full range of foundation phase curriculum activities.
• Helped develop and deliver structured play activities for a range of subjects,
including Maths.
• Taking part in delivering stories and engaging with World Book Day activities.
• Gained knowledge of safeguarding policies, helping me communicate any concerns
with staff and providing safeguarding lessons to the children in the setting.
• Observing children during play and contributing to learning journals
Osborn children’s nursery, Newport-
Placement and employment in areas across the nursery
Placement- 14th November 2024- 31st march 2025.
Employment- 7th may- 9th September
• Working with ages from 9 months to 4 years
• Helping to meet children’s basic needs with mealtimes, nap times and toileting
• Assisting in planning age-appropriate, educational play activities
• Learning about the seven areas of learning and development and Gaining insight into developmental milestones
• Monitoring feeding records, and documentation for nappy changes
• Following safe sleep procedures
Glan usk primary, Newport -Placement in Nursery classroom

My Qualifications
I will be graduating in July with an (BA) hons Early years education (with practitioner status) degree
I am registered with the EWC
I have a DBS that is on the update service
My Availability
I’m fully available Monday-Wednesday, Available for a half day Thursday and Friday, and unavailable on weekends
