About Me
I am currently completing an MSc in Business and Sustainability at UCL, following a 2:1 BA in Philosophy from the University of Birmingham. My academic background has developed strong skills in essay writing, critical thinking, and clear written communication - all of which are essential for success in English.
While I am new to formal tutoring, I have extensive experience writing and structuring high-level essays, and I understand what examiners look for in strong responses. I am particularly confident in helping students improve their essay structure, develop analytical thinking, and express their ideas clearly.
My approach is patient, supportive, and tailored to each student. I focus on building both understanding and confidence, breaking down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps. I also emphasise exam technique - helping students understand how to approach questions and structure answers effectively under timed conditions.
I am particularly well-suited to supporting secondary school students (especially GCSE level), but I am also happy to work with younger students on reading, comprehension, and writing skills. I also offer support for GCSE Philosophy, particularly in essay writing, argument development, and exam technique.
As a tutor, I am committed to creating a positive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their abilities.
My Experience
Although I am new to formal tutoring, my academic and professional experiences have consistently involved developing and applying strong communication, analytical, and mentoring skills.
Through my studies in Philosophy and my current MSc at UCL, I have produced a high volume of structured, analytical writing and developed a clear understanding of how to construct high-quality essays - a skill I aim to pass on to students. I have also supported peers informally by helping them refine their work, improve clarity, and strengthen their arguments.
In addition, my experience working in customer-facing roles has strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, adapt to different individuals, and create a positive and supportive environment - all of which are key to effective tutoring. I have also coached individuals in a martial arts setting, including those with additional needs, which has helped me develop patience, encouragement, and the ability to explain concepts in an accessible way.
My academic background in Philosophy also allows me to support students studying GCSE Philosophy, particularly in structuring arguments and writing high-quality essays.
These experiences have prepared me to support students not only academically, but also in building confidence and developing a positive approach to learning.

I offer competitive introductory rates while I build my tutoring profile and support my first students:
- Primary School: £18 per hour
- GCSE: £25 per hour
I also offer a discounted first session to understand the student’s needs, assess their current level, and develop a tailored approach going forward.
