Part Time Nanny Job in Wakefield
About Me
My husband and I are in our early thirties and have recently welcomed a wonderful baby son. We both work as dentists.
We love travelling, long walks with our big bubbly dog, watching movies and going to restaurants (a lot of these things pre-baby!).
Neither of us have any family nearby so are looking to build our village and to care for and support our baby son’s development as I return to work.
My husband works long hours but does 1 day a week from home. I am sitting a specialist exam in January and need a helping hand with our little one as I study from home 1 day per week.
My Requirements
* Nanny for 14-month old Wednesdays and Thursdays *
We’re a friendly family looking for a kind and reliable nanny to care for our little boy who is 14 months old.
We’re hoping to find someone who will become a long-term part of our family.
He goes to nursery 3 days per week, but the other 2 days we wish to keep him at home as we work from home so we get so spend more time with him and he can spend time in his own comfortable environment.
The role
- Thursdays 9-5pm
- Wednesdays - 1-5pm (or full day)
- £15-£21 depending on experience
- caring for 1 child
- preparing healthy meals and snacks for him / looking after him as I prepare his meals
- organising fun and educational activities for him, taking him out on days out or accompanying us on days out
- light child-related household tasks (eg. tidying his toys, doing his laundry, meal prepping for him - especially during naps)
- we work from home but will give you the space to take the lead after the initial settling in period
- there will be opportunity for additional paid hours by prior mutual agreement which may involve occasional evenings, weekends, special occasions (eg. Weddings) and occasional trips abroad
We are looking for someone who:
- is warm, caring and dependable
- has excellent experience with babies and young toddlers
- has an enhanced DBS check and is on the update service
- has paediatric first aid training
- has a full, clean driver’s license and own car (desired)
- childcare qualifications are welcomed but not essential (additional qualifications will be reflected in pay)

We will welcome a preliminary phone call followed by an in person meeting to see if we are the right fit for each other. We will also ask for the relevant documents such as the DBS certificate, driving licence, relevant certificates and two references that we can call.
Please note currently we are only able to work with a nanny on a self employed basis.
