Registered Childminder Job In Rochford
About Me
My partner, Alex and I are first time parents with a little boy called Ozzy. Ozzy will be turning one in September this year and as you can imagine he’s our absolute world!
We’re both working professionals, Alex is an R&D engineer and Project manager, and myself a senior landscape architect. Whilst we enjoy what we do, work-life balance is really important to us. We love to get away in our camper van and also travel abroad, particularly where there is good surf as Alex is an avid surfer and myself the keen yogi.
We’re both very active people and value being outside in nature. Doing the things we love have become even more fulfilling since expanding our family, being able to share them with Ozzy.
My Requirements
We’re looking for care for Ozzy two days a week from 8am-5pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays are our preferred days, but we’re not fixed to these if we find someone we really like with differing availability.
Excellent communication is really important to us, and some flexibility such as early pick ups.
When it comes to Toys and learning the cause and effect principal is important to us, so toys which focus on realism of the item, teach cause and effect and foster creativity by the child themselves are our preference.
We typically don’t and won't be giving Ozzy confusing Toys with large colourful buttons and unrelated noises. There is a lot of stimulation and not a lot of enrichment.
We’ve been reading to Ozzy from birth to help develop his language skills, and reading has become something that really excites Ozzy. We have a no screens policy at home before the age of 2 years and even then screen exposure will be limited to to tv for educational programmes and appropriate animated movies that we will watch together as a family. The only exception to phone use is video calling family and friends. We cannot emphasise enough that access to iPads, tablets, tv and phones are an absolute no for us.
Being lovers of the great outdoors, getting outside is something we really support. Whether that’s engaging with nature, imaginative or messy play. With this in mind we’d be looking for someone who can offer this through a private garden or adventuring out to the woods or other outdoor spaces.
We’re opting for a childminder as we’re hoping Ozzy will be able to develop a close relationship with just one carer as opposed to being looked after by multiple in day care. Is also important for is that he develop a close circle of friends, and receive the attention needed to support his development but also ensure he is thriving emotionally.
