About Me
We are a calm, structured household with two neurodivergent children. One of our children has additional needs, so routine, consistency and a regulated approach are very important in our home.
Our environment is set up to support her needs, and we are looking for someone who respects structure and can remain calm, patient and steady.
We are not looking for traditional childcare, but for someone who understands or has experience with SEN and can work in a thoughtful, responsive way.
My Requirements
We are a family based in Basingstoke, Hampshire, looking for a reliable, caring and experienced SEN childcare provider to support our two children on an occasional, ongoing basis.
We are seeking someone with professional experience supporting children with complex special educational needs, ideally within specialist education, SEN childcare or respite care.
About Our Children
Our children are of primary and secondary school age, with different support needs:
* Youngest: Autism and global developmental delay, requiring support with personal care, nappies, toileting and communication using PECS. Food allergies must also be carefully managed.
* Eldest: ADHD, largely independent but benefits from gentle prompting, encouragement and support following his daily routine.
Childcare Required
* Occasional daytime care for outings and other commitments.
* Approximately one evening per month.
* Overnight care approximately once every three months.
We would ideally like to establish a consistent, long-term arrangement with someone our children can get to know and trust.
Experience & Requirements
* Professional experience supporting children with complex SEN.
* Confidence providing personal care and following individual care plans.
* Understanding of autism, developmental delay and communication differences.
* Enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
* Reliable, patient, compassionate and attentive to individual needs.
Pay & Training
Our starting rate is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications, with higher rates available for the right candidate.
Overnight rates will be agreed separately.
Full training and familiarisation with our children’s individual needs, routines and care requirements will be provided and paid for before independent childcare begins.
