Hi, my name is Amy and I am an aspiring Ofsted Registered Childminder based in Church Crookham, Fleet.
I live with my husband, Neil, and our two daughters, aged 9 and 3. As a family, we love spending time outdoors, exploring nature, getting creative and making the most of everyday adventures.
My setting will offer a warm, nurturing home-from-home environment where children can feel safe, valued and confident to explore. Days will be filled with a balance of child-led play, crafts, messy play, cooking, outdoor adventures and practical activities that encourage curiosity and independence.
We will make the most of our spacious, secure garden and local area, enjoying nature walks, visits to parks and the library, and plenty of opportunities to discover the world around us. I look forward to working closely with families to provide a happy, caring environment where every child can thrive.
My Experience
Before becoming a childminder, I spent 18 years as a secondary Design & Technology and Food Technology teacher. Throughout my teaching career, I supported children and young people with a wide range of abilities, interests and learning needs, helping them to develop confidence, resilience, creativity and practical skills.
My teaching experience has given me a strong understanding of child development, planning engaging activities, observing progress and adapting experiences to meet individual needs. It has also equipped me with extensive training in safeguarding, communication and working in partnership with families and other professionals.
Alongside my professional experience, being a parent has deepened my understanding of children's needs at different stages of development and the importance of providing consistent, responsive care.
I bring together my years in education and my experience as a parent to create a setting where children are encouraged to learn through play, explore their interests and grow in confidence every day.
