My Experience

I have experience working with primary-aged learners across a range of subjects within the Curriculum for Excellence’s Broad General Education phase (Primary 1 - S3). I completed 3 primary placements and 1 secondary placement when studying for my teaching qualification, as well as 1 full academic year teaching P5. Before teaching, I worked as a pupil support assistant in an Edinburgh primary school, as a multi sports coach for King’s Camps, as section director of a Canadian summer camp and as a musical theatre teacher at Stagecoach for 2 years.

I’m confident supporting learners to build foundational skills, improve confidence, and prepare for assessments. My masters degree in Transformative Learning and Teaching allows me to embed principles of social justice and sustainability into my teaching, using a transformative approach which encourages learners to think critically about the world around them. This helps create an inclusive environment where all learners feel seen and valued. I have ample experience planning and delivering structured lessons, adapting resources for different learning stages and supporting individuals with varying learning needs.
