About Me

Hi, I’m Julian. I am based in South East London and have over 15 years’ experience in face-to-face tutoring children and adults with a range of abilities, including students with SEN.

I’m a passionate tutor driven to maximise each student’s potential! My teaching style is straightforward and student-focused. I aim to build confidence and adapt lessons to how each student learns best. I take time to listen to and understand each student’s needs, then adjust my approach so they stay engaged and make progress.

I’ve worked with students across primary, GCSE and university level. I support essay writing, exam preparation and general subject understanding, and I regularly create structured study plans to guide improvement.

My Experience

I currently work as a manager at First Class Learning Peckham, where I support around 30 students (aged 5–15) in Maths & English and design individual learning programmes. I’ve also worked at several Kumon centres and provided one-to-one tutoring for 11+ preparation, GCSE Maths (AQA and Edexcel), and Master’s-level dissertation writing. In addition, I work regularly as a supply teaching assistant in primary and secondary schools, including one-to-one SEN support.

My Qualifications

MSc Psychology (Goldsmiths, University of London); MSc Economics and BSc Economics and Politics (University of Bath). A-Levels: Economics (A*), Maths (A), History (A); GCSEs: 8 A*s, 3 As.
