About Me

I am a warm, caring, and dependable nanny with a genuine passion for working with children, especially babies and young children. I always strive to create a calm, happy, and nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow in confidence. I strongly believe in the importance of emotional warmth, patience, and positive encouragement, and I love building strong, trusting relationships with both children and parents.

Alongside my nurturing approach, I am highly organised, tidy, and proactive. I believe children thrive best in a calm and well-structured environment, so I always make it a priority to maintain a clean, organised, and peaceful space where little ones can play, learn, and feel comfortable.

I grew up in North West London surrounded by a large extended family, and from a young age I naturally gravitated towards caring for younger children. This early love for childcare continued throughout my education and inspired my long-term goal of becoming a primary school teacher.

I graduated from the University of Edinburgh last summer with a degree in Spanish and English Literature, and during my degree I spent a year living in Seville, Spain, working as an English Language Assistant in a private school teaching children aged 6–18. The experience strengthened my love for education and working with children immensely.

For the past year, I have been working full-time as a Pupil Support Assistant within a primary school, supporting a Primary 4 class and working closely 1:1 with children with ASN. I absolutely love my role and find supporting children both academically and emotionally incredibly rewarding. In August, I will begin my PGDE at the University of Edinburgh to train as a primary school teacher.

Alongside my school experience, I also previously worked as a nanny for a baby from just 3 months old, supporting him through important early developmental stages including bottle feeding, weaning, sleep routines, sensory play, and developmental milestones. Caring for babies is something I truly love, and I really value creating a gentle, loving, and stimulating environment where they can thrive.

My Experience

Over the past year, I worked as a Pupil Support Assistant in a primary school, supporting a Primary 4 class, which I absolutely loved. I really enjoyed building strong relationships with the children, getting to know their individual personalities and interests, and supporting them both academically and emotionally. Through this role, I developed a solid understanding of the Curriculum for Excellence and how learning is approached within Scottish schools. I also took the initiative to start and run a Spanish club, which was a particular highlight for me. Alongside this, I worked closely with children with ASN on a 1:1 basis and regularly supervised pupils across all year groups in the playground, giving me valuable experience working with a wide range of ages and needs.

Throughout the last year of my degree, I was working as a nanny for a family with a baby, starting when he was three months old. I had the privilege of supporting him through his early developmental stages, facilitating bottle feeding, nappy changes, introducing solids, and helping establish routines around sleep and play. I’ve been closely involved in encouraging his physical and sensory development, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to witness his milestones, from his first smiles to rolling over, sitting up, and even waving for the first time. In addition to caring for the baby, I would also occasionally look after his 4 year old sister. My responsibilities with her included collecting her from nursery and planning age-appropriate activities to keep her engaged and supported. This experience has strengthened my ability to care for children at different developmental stages, while balancing their individual needs. I understand how important it is to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for both babies and older siblings, and truly enjoy building strong, trusting relationships with the whole family.

The year before, I worked as an English Language Assistant at a school in Seville, Spain, teaching children aged 6-18. My primary responsibilities involved leading small groups and providing one-on-one support to enhance their English language skills. This role was incredibly rewarding, as it solidified my passion for becoming a full-time teacher. Working consistently with the same groups allowed me to form strong connections with the students and support both their academic progress and personal development.

In the summer of 2021, I had the pleasure of babysitting for two families. One family had a 4-year-old girl and a 1.5-year-old boy, while the other had two girls aged 8 and 11. I thoroughly enjoyed caring for these children and building meaningful relationships with them over the summer. Additionally, I have regularly babysat for an 11-year-old family friend over the past four years, further enriching my experience and strengthening my connection with children.

In 2020, I completed a virtual course as a Youth Education Officer, where I designed and coordinated an educational workshop to complement curriculum content. This workshop aimed to foster empathy and inclusivity among young students by addressing prominent social issues in an engaging and age-appropriate way.

In 2019, I volunteered for a year at a local secondary school, assisting in Spanish classes for students aged 12-15. During the same year, I earned an AQA-accredited Peer Mentoring Award, recognised for my reliability, initiative, and care towards younger peers. This experience, along with formal training, taught me how to mentor and guide students, becoming a trusted point of contact for academic and personal support.

Finally, I have extensive experience caring for my younger relatives, ranging from 1 to 13 years old, which has further deepened my love for working with children and prepared me for a variety of caregiving situations.
