My Experience

I am a full-time mum to two autistic children, so my experience is hands-on, daily and across a range of real-life situations as a parent not just a carer.

I regularly support with:
• non-verbal communication and understanding needs without relying on speech
• managing sensory sensitivities (noise, food, environments, transitions)
• maintaining routines and helping children feel safe with consistency
• handling meltdowns calmly, without escalation, and recognising early triggers
• supporting children who struggle to settle with new people

I understand that every child is different, and I take time to learn their specific routines, triggers and comforts so they feel secure.

I am confident caring for children who need more patience, structure and understanding than standard childcare provides.

My Qualifications

I have completed the National Autistic Society Early Birds programme (0–5s), a structured 10-week parent training course focused on understanding and supporting autistic children in early development.
This has given me practical strategies in areas such as communication, behaviour, sensory regulation, and supporting daily routines.

Alongside this, I have extensive lived experience as a full-time parent to two autistic children (ages 5 and 6) with different sensory profiles and support needs. This has required daily adaptation, problem-solving, and learning how to respond calmly and consistently in a wide range of situations.
I continue to build my understanding through real-life experience and ongoing learning around autism, sensory processing, and child development.

My Availability

I offer flexible availability depending on family needs, including daytime, after school and evening support.

Short-notice and emergency cover may also be available.

• Babysitting from £18.00 per hour
