About me
I am a dedicated and caring childminder, as well as a proud mother of four grown children, with a genuine passion for supporting children’s growth and development. My personal experience as a parent, combined with over 20 years of working as a support worker for vulnerable individuals and those with special needs, has shaped my patient, compassionate, and nurturing approach to childcare.
I created my childminding service after experiencing first-hand how challenging it can be to find childcare that truly meets both children’s needs and family routines. This inspired me to build a safe, structured, and loving environment where every child feels valued, respected, and confident to be themselves.
I believe every child is unique and deserves personalised care that supports their physical, emotional, and social development. My setting promotes healthy routines, creativity, curiosity, and inclusion, welcoming children from all backgrounds and abilities. I am especially passionate about creating a space where children feel happy, secure, and encouraged to grow into the best version of themselves.
With a strong educational background in Health and Social Care and a degree in Theology, Mission and Ministry, I bring a deep understanding of people, community, and values into my work. My setting reflects this through a focus on respect, unity, and positive development for every child in my care.
My experience
I bring over 20 years of experience working as a support worker, caring for vulnerable individuals and those with special needs, alongside my personal journey as a mother of four. These experiences have shaped me into a patient, compassionate, and highly attentive caregiver who understands the importance of providing safe, consistent, and nurturing support of children with different needs.
This is partnered with strong communication skills, management skills, organisational skills, educational insight and a commitment to high quality early years practice. I have completed key early years training, including Safeguarding, Understanding the EYFS and Paediatric First Aid, and continues to engage in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
I am have a Bachelor of Arts Single Honours degree (BA) Theology, Mission and Ministry, BTEC First Diploma Health & Social Care Level 2. I am qualified Early Years Educator, and an experienced Ofsted registered childminder that delivers high quality, inclusive and developmentally focused childcare.
As the Lead Childminder, I am responsible for running all areas of the childcare setting. This includes keeping children safe, planning activities, maintaining high standards, following regulations, and working closely with parents. I lead with care, kindness, and professionalism, always aiming to improve and provide the best possible care. I make sure the setting is safe, well organised, and supports children’s learning and development in a nurturing environment.
In addition to the above, I consistently undergo Continuous Professional Development training provided by Childcare.co.uk for an ongoing update knowledge and skills required to provide a successful child minding service.
