About Joey’s Childcare
Hello, I’m an Ofsted registered childminder based in Richmond (TW10), offering a warm, home-from-home setting for children under 5.
With over 10 years of experience caring for children from newborn to 18 years — including those with additional needs — I provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can grow in confidence, independence and feel part of the family.
I work with a small ratio of 1 adult to 3 children, allowing for high-quality, individual care. I am supported by an experienced assistant who previously ran her own local crèche for over 30 years.
I offer early years-focused childcare only, meaning there are no school drop-offs or pick-ups. This allows us to keep a calm, consistent routine without rushing in and out for school runs, giving each child more time, attention and a better quality day.
We are a very outdoor-focused setting with a strong forest school approach, making the most of everything on our doorstep. Children spend time outdoors every day, whatever the weather, developing confidence, resilience and a love of nature.
Our regular outings include:

• Richmond Park
• Local libraries and playgrounds
Children explore, climb, collect natural materials, observe wildlife and learn through real-world experiences.
We also offer unique local experiences, including occasional visits to a nearby fire station, where my husband works as a firefighter — something the children always enjoy.
At home, we have a large garden for outdoor play, alongside a calm and engaging indoor space. Our days include a mix of structured and child-led activities such as:
• Weekly cooking sessions, encouraging independence with close supervision
• Weekly music and movement sessions
• Arts and crafts, including painting and creative play
• Regular visits from local providers, including children’s yoga and Pilates-style movement sessions
• Hands-on, play-based learning
• Encouraging independence and confidence

All activities are carried out in a safe, supportive environment with appropriate supervision at all times.
All meals are provided, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, with a focus on healthy, balanced nutrition.
My aim is simple — to offer high-quality childcare in Richmond where your child feels safe, happy and truly cared for, while learning through play, nature and everyday experiences.
My Experience
I have over 10 years of childcare experience with children aged from newborn to 18 years, across a range of early years and home-based settings.
I have supported children with a variety of needs, including additional and special educational needs, allowing me to adapt my care to suit each child individually.
My approach focuses on creating a safe, nurturing environment where children feel confident, supported and able to thrive through play, independence and real-life learning experiences.
My Qualifications
• Paediatric First Aid trained
• Enhanced DBS checked
• Fully qualified in home-based childcare
• Regular ongoing training to stay up to date with EYFS and best practices
• Always striving to improve and provide the highest standard of care
My Fees
- Childminding from £11.00 per hour
Fees include: Breakfast, lunch and dinner, two snacks, all trips and outings, and weekly classes with external providers.
