My Summary

My Experience

After deciding that looking after children was something I wanted to do over my gap year, I have really enjoyed learning about child development and the Montessori approach. I've completed the Department for Education's Early Years child development training, based on the EYFS framework that nurseries follow. I love to plan and weave this into everyday play, whether that’s listening to them, reading together, arts and sensory play, imaginative games or outdoor activties (think forest school in the garden)!

This training covered brain development and how children learn, child development and the EYFS, personal, social and emotional development, early mathematics and literacy, physical and language development, and effective curriculum.

My experience spans babies from 10 months through to 11-year-olds, including caring for up to four children at once. I like to help as much as I can, whether that be helping support in academics/ 11+ tuition (I know it’s a struggle!), creating Montessori-inspired activities for as young as 10 months, changing nappies and potty training, supporting extra-curricular activites such as ballet, french and music, helping with housekeeping and laundry to simply helping with the daily routine.

I've volunteered with Riding for the Disabled South Bucks supporting children with disabilities, with Davenies Cub Scouts running activities for my DofE Award, and at the Roald Dahl Museum helping children engage with stories. Reading has been a huge part of my own childhood and still is, and I love helping make reading as exciting as the TV by bringing books every visit! One of my favourite parts of babysitting is making routine tasks that can sometime be tricky more exciting by using our imaginations!

I hold Level 2 and Level 3 Sports Leaders qualifications, for which I ran sporting events for children, people with disabilities and vulnerable adults. I love creating activities that help children enjoy being active and just having fun while developing coordination and motor skills. I have an enhanced DBS check and a Red Cross first aid certification, which can be sent across along with my training certification.

I have endless energy and enthusiasm - especially now my A-Levels are finished! I'm more than happy to help with tidying, cooking and housework, after mucking out horse stables housework really is a piece of cake! Most of all, I'd love to hear about your family and how I could help.

My Qualifications

A-Level student at a grammar school in Beaconsfield, predicted A*,A*,A. A* in Latin Level 1. Sports Leader Level 2&3. 9s at GCSE in English language, English Literature, History, Physics, Biology and 8/7s.

My Availability

I have quite flexible availability - due to a long summer holiday then gap year.
