About Me
I am a newly registered childminder in Wem in North Shropshire. I have two children of my own aged 5 and 2. I am Ofsted registered and hold the required qualification including first aid and safeguarding for children. I care for children from 0-11 and am available for before and after school care including drop off and collections at St Peters school in Wem. I provide a home from home setting and am passionate about supporting children's development through play and exploration. Children will have access to a wide range of resources appropriate to their age and stage including arts and crafts, messy play, sensory activities, outdoor play and activities in the community such as attending toddler groups, exploring local parks and visits to the library. I am flexible with days and times you require for childcare so please get in touch to discuss.
My Experience
As a mother to two children aged 2 and 5 I have gained valuable hands on experience supporting children's development, learning and well-being on a daily basis. Alongside this I have also worked with young adults with learning disabilities in both residential and college setting developing skills in communication, patience, safeguarding and providing individual support. I have also worked as a healthcare assistant within a hospital setting where i have gained valuable experience. I hold a degree in Psychology with child and language development, a diploma in health and social care and have completed an introductory childminding course as well as first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene courses. I am also able to use basic makaton and hope to expand these skills.
