About Me

I offer a warm, patient, and structured approach to childcare, with a particular focus on supporting children with additional needs. I am currently working as a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant, supporting children with autism, ADHD, and a range of emotional and developmental needs. Alongside this, I am a trainee psychotherapist, which has given me a strong understanding of child development, emotional regulation, and the importance of building safe, trusting relationships.
My approach is person-centred, meaning I prioritise each child’s individual needs, pace, and personality. I focus on creating a calm, predictable environment where children feel understood, supported, and able to express themselves. I have experience supporting communication development, managing challenging behaviours in a calm and safe way, and helping children build confidence and independence.
I can support with structured play, outdoor activities, emotional regulation, and daily routines, and I am happy to adapt my approach to suit each child. I also have experience in safeguarding, risk awareness, and maintaining professional, non-judgmental care.
I am available over the summer holidays and would love to support a family during this time, particularly those looking for someone experienced in SEND and emotional wellbeing.

My Experience

I have a range of experience working with children and young people, particularly those with additional needs. I currently work as a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant in a primary school, where I support children with autism, ADHD, and developmental delays. In this role, I provide individualised support, adapt activities to suit each child’s needs, and help manage behaviour in a calm and consistent way. I also support communication development and work closely with routines and structure to help children feel safe and engaged.
Alongside this, I volunteer with Shout UK, where I have supported over 75 individuals experiencing distress, including anxiety, self-harm, and abuse. This has strengthened my skills in active listening, empathy, safeguarding, and responding to emotional needs in a non-judgmental way.
I am also a trainee psychotherapist at Keele University, which has given me a strong understanding of emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and the importance of building trusting, therapeutic relationships. In addition, I have experience as a dance teacher, where I led group activities, encouraged participation, and created a fun, engaging environment for children.
Overall, my experience has developed my ability to build strong relationships with children, support a wide range of needs, and create a safe, positive environment where they can feel confident and supported.

My Qualifications

I am currently studying an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Keele University, accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. This training has provided me with a strong foundation in person-centred practice, emotional wellbeing, and understanding behaviour and communication in children.
I also hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Exeter (2:1), which has given me a solid understanding of child development, mental health, and behaviour.
In addition, I have completed Safeguarding Level 1 and 2 training through Shout UK, where I volunteer as a crisis supporter. I also hold a Level 3 Paediatric First Aid qualification.
Alongside my academic qualifications, I regularly engage in continued professional development, including training in speech and language support, autism awareness, and supporting children with additional needs.

My Availability

I am available throughout the summer holidays on a flexible, full-time basis. I am able to work weekdays and weekends, including evenings if required.
I am unavailable on Friday mornings due to a prior commitment, but I am available from Friday afternoons onwards. I am happy to discuss and adapt to a schedule that works best for your family.

My Fees

  • Babysitting from £15.00 per hour

My hourly rate ranges from £17–£30 per hour, depending on the level of support required, the number of children, and the nature of the role.
For general childcare, I typically charge at the lower end of this range. For more specialist support, including SEND, emotional regulation, or 1:1 care, my rate reflects the level of experience and individualised support I provide.
I am happy to discuss specific requirements and agree a rate that works for both myself and the family.
