Registered Childminder with Special Needs Experience Job in Bradford-on-Avon
About Me
Requirements at present are:
Family Support Worker / Supervised Contact Role (Part-Time, Ongoing)
Location: Bath / Bradford-on-Avon / Bristol (primarily community-based, e.g. parks)
I am seeking a calm, reliable, and professionally minded individual to support supervised contact between myself and my 7-year-old son during an important period of transition.
This is not a standard nanny or babysitting role. It requires someone who can provide a neutral, structured, and child-focused presence, with the ability to support safe interactions and, where appropriate, provide brief factual observations of sessions.
The Role
• Attend weekly contact sessions (approx. 3:45pm–5:15pm, flexible)
• Support a safe, calm, and structured environment
• Maintain a neutral and professional presence
• Intervene appropriately if needed for safety or behaviour
• Provide brief written summaries of sessions if required
• Sessions will take place in community settings (e.g. local parks or agreed venues)
Essential Requirements
• Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service)
• Experience working with children (e.g. family support, SEN, education, youth work, or similar)
• Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
• Ability to remain calm, fair, and non-judgemental
• Confidence supporting behaviour in a regulated and supportive way
Desirable (but not essential)
• Experience in family support, contact supervision, or early help
• Ability to provide simple, factual written observations
• Relevant qualifications (childcare, psychology, social care, youth work, etc.)
• Driving licence (for future flexibility)
Personal Qualities
• Emotionally intelligent and grounded
• Observant and reliable
• Professional, discreet, and consistent
• Able to balance warmth with appropriate boundaries
Additional Information
This role may evolve over time depending on arrangements and professional guidance. I am committed to working collaboratively to ensure the structure meets appropriate safeguarding expectations.
I am offering a competitive hourly rate to reflect the level of responsibility involved.
If you feel this role matches your experience, please get in touch with:
• Your CV
• DBS status
• Relevant experience
Kind regards,
Bianca

Is patient, grounded, and supportive without being judgmental
Is comfortable working alongside a parent (not independently leading all care)
Understands the importance of emotional regulation in children and adults
Requirements
Previous childcare or nannying experience (essential)
Confident supporting behavioural boundaries in a gentle, structured way
Driving licence preferred (or comfortable travelling by car)
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
References required
I would love support to encourage Oscar with his art, maths and social emotional learning. I am active and engaging. We are very attuned and loving. I would appreciate help to stick to similar routines in both houses and to get Oscar well rested and to school on time.
I require 2 hours after school once a week, increasing to up to half the time around school.
Some weekends I would like support in the car over to Harrow, London and then on outings, staying with my parents.
Other weekends on outings locally in Bath, Batheaston or Bradford-on-Avon for a few hours during the day.
Hopefully I will move back to overnights during the week with the right support, then appreciating help getting to school.
