About Me
Hi, I'm Cathy and I am a practical and understanding person offering child care in Aberdeen City. I have over five years experience in looking after children ranging from newborn to ten years old. I like to make sure children have a fulfilling and enjoyable day, mixing routine activities with new experiences.
My main focus for activities is nature, arts and active play. I like to work with families to create a schedule that prioritizes their needs and interests whether that is having someone to manage the school run or to keep little ones busy. I provide care in the children's own home and within the community.
My Experience
Child care has been a big part of my life since childhood, first as an older sister then as a babysitter. I worked in child care during my teens, providing summer cover for working parents. Later in life, I went back to child care, acting as a home help for my employer who worked from home. This involved doing the school run (at three different times!), managing meals and planning activities for after school and then during summer holidays. Two of the children I looked after had needs that were unique to them and the work also involved taking these into account.
Currently I provide regular weekly childcare for my nephews aged 4, 2 and 1. We go on outings to local farms, play splash at the river and sing songs. Dinosaur sandwiches, drawing and diggers feature regularly.
My Qualifications
I am undertaking the process to register as a child care professional with the Care Inspectorate. I hold a full PVG for work with children and adults.
My Availability
I am available for custom schedules every day except Thursday. Please contact me with your request.
